My California travel diary will end on a very Disney note !
As it is the very first park created my Walt himself, I was really excited to visit Disneyland in Anaheim. I also went to Califonia Adventure which is the new park that opened just in front of Disneyland, and visited the exhibition dedicated to the very talented Mary Blair at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Fransisco.
–
I didn’t know exactly what to expect of that park, except from the facts that its space and castle are a lot smaller.
To compare with other Disney Parks I went to ( Paris, Tokyo, Orlando ), it’s mostly the attractions that appeared different to me. The mechanisms are a little bit old, and the wagons definitely have a lack of comfort and modernity ( in the Matterhorn and Alice for exemple ), but that’s also what makes the park so charming. Let’s not forget it was inaugurated in 1955 !
What I loved the most was all these little details hidden here and there. The park looks a little bit more vintage and has a more intimate atmosphere than all the other Disney parks. I spent most of my time around Fantasyland, but I also really liked the area around New Orlean Square. By the way if you have time and are extremely hungry, you can try the very big and famous club sandwich at Blue Bayou restaurant !

Disneyland Paris is turning into my second home, and it’s funny especially knowing that I didn’t plan to go back until Iris would turn two !
–
You probably saw it on my Instagram, I was back to the park last week end to attend the Premiere of » The Forest of Enchantements« , the very new show at the Chaparral Theater in Disneyland’s Frontierland.
A Disney musical adventure which takes its inspiration to nature, with beautiful decors that unfold like a pop up book over the stories.
I really enjoyed the wide variety and live performances of the artists.
Pocahontas and Rapunzel sing, Tarzan makes us dizzy with its acrobatics, Mérida shoots magical arrows, and we are carried away by Baloo and King Louie who dance like in a Broadway musical. This was the funniest, and my favourite moment !
If you’d like to see the show, it is happening 5 times a day every day, until the 8th of May
–
This weekend was also the opportunity to spend some good times with my little family and friends.
It was the second time we spent a night at the Disneyland Hotel, and it felt like a fairy tale once again. The weather was awful, so we decided to take a little break at the pool.
–
Luckily enough, the rain didn’t stop us from two days of amusement as we were equipped with the best rain boots and raincoats… matching of course !
–
Also a little surprise was waiting for us inside the park. Easter eggs were here, and it was a lot of fun to find where each of them were hiding !

Until recently, I didn’t like autumn so much. It was a sign for me that summer holidays were over, and that winter would be here way too soon ( It gets more and more difficult for me to bear the cold ! ).
But I have learned to appreciate this season like it should.
After visiting a few countries where nature is pretty much the same all year, I realize it’s rather a chance to have some changes and all these beautiful colors !
But the fact that we had an incredibly beautiful weather this season helped a lot in my change of mind…
Here are some photos from an afternoon spent at the jardin des Tuileries. Trees were almost bare already, but the good thing is that we could enjoy this massive carpet of leaves !
