La déco n’est pas encore terminée, mais a déjà bien avancé. Il me reste toujours à trouver de beaux rideaux !

Harry Potter.
J’ai parfois l’impression qu’il me court après.
J’aime énormément l’univers que J.K. Rowling a créé avec soin, la magie et l’inventivité qui m’a happé dès l’instant où j’ai lu les premières lignes de sa série.
Mais je n’irais pas jusqu’Ã me proclamer comme fan.
Je me suis pourtant retrouvé plongée trois fois, totalement par hasard, dans le monde du jeune sorcier.

Une première fois à Orlando en Floride, au parc Universal Studios.
J’avais prévu de passer deux jours à Disney World, mais ce sont des affichettes dans le lobby de mon hôtel qui m’ont fait connaitre l’existence d’Harry Potter à Universal.  J’avais donc divisé mon programme en deux, un jour pour Disney World ( ce qui était bien trop court! ), et un jour pour Universal Studios.
La deuxième fois, c’était à Singapour. Une exposition qui faisait le tour du monde, spécialement dédiée à Harry Potter, au ArtScience Museum.
Juste sur le parvis de mon Hotel Marina Bay Sands!
Et cette fois ci, à Osaka, il s’est passé exactement la même chose qu’à Orlando: Je n’avais pas de but précis sur place, et c’est un panneau dans mon hôtel faisant la promo du « Wizzarding World of Harry Potter » qui m’a attiré l’attention.

Puisque j’ai été attirée trois fois de suite comme une abeille sur de la confiture, j’imagine que je suis tout de même un peu fan …

Je me suis donc rendue à Universal Studios Osaka. En plus en pleine période d’Halloween, cette visite ne pouvait pas mieux tomber.
Ce que je ne savais pas par contre, c’est que la partie Harry Potter du parc venait d’ouvrir il y a à peine trois mois !
Je vous laisse deviner la foule qui s’empressait de découvrir tout comme moi  cette grande nouveauté.
Au milieu des visiteurs habillés de capes ou en total-look d’étudiants de Poudlard, je me serais presque véritablement crue à l’école de magie et de sorcellerie!
Autre surprise: à cause de la grande fréquentation de cette partie du parc justement, l’accès n’était pas libre. Il fallait aller à une borne pour collecter un ticket avec un horaire d’entrée.
Heureusement pour moi, ayant très malicieusement investi dans un Express Pass, j’ai pu y rentrer directement, et faire les attractions qui s’y trouvaient en un temps record ! ( Pas plus de 15 minutes d’attente, là où deux heures minimum sont nécessaires pour l’attraction » Harry Potter and the forbidden journey » ). En y repensant, je pense que ça a sauvé ma journée !

Le land en lui même est un véritable petit bijou ( du point de vue d’un fan de Harry Potter en tout cas ! ).
Il est tout à fait similaire à celui d’Orlando, mais plus petit ( à l’heure où j’écris cet article, Orlando dispose de deux lands, et Osaka juste un ). Même château, même attractions, même Poudlard Express, même Pré-au-lard, mêmes boutiques, mais sans le Chemin de Traverse, Gringotts ou gare de King’s Cross.
Il m’a semblé qu’il était un peu plus poussé dans les détails par contre: les décors des vitrines étaient un délice ! ( pas étonnant venant des Japonais, connus pour leur inventivité et leur sens de la perfection ).
Je me suis laissée tenter par une appétissante « Bièraubeurre ». Malheureusement pour moi, le parfum que j’ai choisi n’était absolument pas à mon goût, et j’ai dû la finir en faisant bien des grimasses. Petite consolation, j’avais au moins la choppe à ramener chez moi comme souvenir !
Sur place, j’ai été très étonnée de voir que l’attraction qui nécessitait le plus d’attente après « Harry Potter and the forbidden journey » n’était justement pas une attraction mais … Honey Dukes, le magasin de friandises !
Plutôt logique en y réfléchissant finalement: les Japonais ont un attrait particulier pour tout ce qui est merchandising, surtout biscuits, bonbons et thés, quand ils sont bien présentés ( j’avais pu le remarquer maintes fois à Tokyo Disneyland et Tokyo Disney Sea, tant les espaces dédiés à la vente de ces produits étaient plus grands et plus fréquentés que les autres ). Manque d’espace oblige dans les habitations japonaises, une boite de gâteaux ( qui sera donc consommée ) constitue le cadeau le plus correct et apprécié qui soit.
J’aurais adoré bénéficier du choix de ma baguette magique ( ou plutôt la baguette qui me choisit ) chez Ollivanders, mais le reste du parc m’appelait à sa découverte. J’ai tout de même été à deux doigts de craquer pour la baguette d’Hermione dans la boutique de souvenirs !

Harry Potter.
Sometimes I really get that feeling like he’s after me.
I absolutely love the universe that J.K. Rowling created in her books, the magic and inventiveness that caught me from the moment I read the first lines of the serie.
But I wouldn’t proclaim myself as a fan.
Yet I found myself into the young wizard’s world three times, without even planning it.

The first time was in Orlando in Florida, at Universal Studios.
My plan was originally to spend two days at Disney world, but a sign in my hotel’s lobby changed my mind: it showed me the existence of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. So I split my program to spend one day at Disney world ( which was way too short! ), and one day at Universal Studios.
The second time was in Singapore. An exhibition dedicated to Harry Potter that was traveling around the world, at the ArtScience Museum.
Just in front of my hotel Marina Bay Sands !
And this third time in Osaka, it happened exactly like in Orlando: I didn’t plan anything special, until I saw a sign in my hotel promoting » The Wizarding World of Harry Potter ».

Because I was attracted three times like a moth to a flame, I guess I might be a fan after all …

So I went to Universal Studios Osaka. And as it was Halloween time, it couldn’t be more perfect !
What I didn’t know is that the Harry Potter land opened just three months earlier.
You can imagine the crowd there was… I wasn’t the only one who thought it would be nice to go there !
Surronded by visitors dressed in wizard capes or Hogwarts students uniforms, the illusion to be at the School of Witchcraft & Wizardry was almost perfect !
Something I didn’t expect was to see that the entry to Harry Potter land wasn’t a free access. It was necessary to collect a ticket with an entry time.
Fortunately for me, having mischievously invested into an Express Pass, I was able to get in immediately and enjoy the attractions in a record time ! ( No more than 15 min waiting everytime, when there’s at least two hours wait for « Harry Potter and the forbidden journey » ).
Looking back, I think it really saved my day !

The land itself is a little piece of heaven ( at least from a Harry Potter fan’s view ).
It is pretty much the same as in Orlando, but smaller ( by the time I’m writing this, Orlando has two lands, while Osaka has just one ). Same castle, same Hogwarts Express, same Hogsmeade, same attractions, same shops, but without Diagon Alley, Gringotts or King’s Cross Station.
Also it seemed to me that the Japanese park was a little bit more detailed. The windows displays were a real delight ! ( Not so surprising coming from the Japanese, who are known for their skills and attention for perfection ).
I treated myself with an appetizing « Butterbeer ». Unfortunately for me, the flavor that  I chose was definitely not to my taste.
Small consolation, I had at least the mug to bring back home as a souvenir !
I was really surprised as well to see that the attraction with the longest waiting line wasn’t an attraction but … Honey Dukes, the candy shop !
Quite logical after all when you think about it: Japanese people love merchandising, especially for food, tea or candies when they are attractively packaged ( something that I noticed many times in Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea, as the area dedicated to these kind of products are bigger and always more crowded than any other stores ). Because of the lack of space in the Japanese homes, a box of biscuits is the most correct and appreciated gift to make.
I would have loved to choose my wand at Ollivanders ( or should I say the wand choosing me ), but I had so many other things to see ! I was close to purchase Hermione’s wand at the souvenir shop though !

Le fameux Blue Lagoon !
Cette station thermale est bien souvent listé comme numéro 1 des choses à visiter en Islande, ce qui m’a évidemment motivé à essayer.
La particularité de l’endroit, qui l’a également rendu célèbre: sa couleur d’un bleu laiteux.
Comme énoncé dans mon précédent article, mon site favori reste tout de même Geysir, même si j’avoue avoir plus qu’apprécié barboter dans ce bassin turquoise.

Voici une petite liste sur mon expérience au Blue Lagoon:
–
♥ Il y a beaucoup de monde, cela va sans dire.
♥ L’eau est riche en sels minéraux, silicates et algues bleu-vertes, extrêmement bénéfique pour la peau.
S’y baigner c’est comme se faire un soin intensif de la peau.
♥ Ce n’est pas un site naturel. Il a été aménagé dans une zone volcanique, au milieu d’un champ de lave, et est alimenté par l’eau d’une centrale géothermique.
C’est en 1992 que ce lac artificiel a été creusé, après la découverte des bienfaits de cette eau pour la peau quelques années auparavant.
♥ La température, bien chaude, est tellement agréable dans l’eau que l’on se retrouve à s’y prélasser facilement pendant des heures. Il ne faut pas oublier qu’on est en Islande, et qu’il fait donc très froid à l’extérieur. Il n’y a rien de plus agréable pour se réchauffer !
♥ Si vous êtes une fille à cheveux longs et que vous projetez de vous rendre au Blue Lagoon:
vous verrez dans les photos qui suivent que j’ai trempé mes cheveux dans l’eau. Ce n’est pas la meilleure chose à faire ( contrairement à la peau ), mais en y appliquant une bonne dose d’après-shampooing, il n’y a pas de soucis. Je conseille également de sécher et brosser les cheveux immédiatement après les avoir lavé. Pour celles qui ont les cheveux colorés, il vaux mieux éviter tout contact par contre.
♥ Au Lava restaurant, on peut siroter le meilleur cocktail bleu du monde ( et en profiter pour se faire une cure de saumon ).
♥ Attention au chapardage . Je me suis fait voler ma serviette ( ramené de chez moi ), et une dame a même tenté de me subtiliser mon peignoir.
Je sais que c’est un sujet qui peut paraître bête au premier abord, mais on comprend mieux l’importance de la chose une fois en situation: hors de l’eau, la température est glaciale.
Les tarifs naturellement plus élevés par le Blue Lagoon pour la location de peignoirs tente probablement les gens qui ont oublié d’emmener leur propre serviette mais qui ne veulent ni payer plus cher, ni se geler pour autant … à voler les autres.
On comprendra que c’est le seul point négatif de mon passage au Blue Lagoon.
Je n’ai rien eu à craindre pour mes autres effets personnels heureusement.
♥ Dans des boites sur le rebord du bassin, on peut récolter de quoi se faire un masques facial en silice. Tout le monde n’hésitait pas à le faire, ce qui créait un amusant paysage de tête couverte de blanc qui dépassaient de l’eau.
Très drôle également de voir des groupes d’amis et des couples s’appliquant mutuellement cette boue sur le visage. Ça les rendait en général complètement hilares, et pour avoir essayé, je peux vous dire que j’ai également bien rigolé.
♥ Et enfin, pour mon plus grand bonheur, on est libre de faire des photos !

The famous Blue Lagoon !
This spa is very often listed as the number one thing to visit in Iceland, which obviously motivated me to try.
What makes this place so unique, special and famous at the same time: its milky blue color.
As I said in my previous post, my favorite place in Iceland so far is Geysir, although I must admit bathing there was pretty enjoyable.

Here are a few tips, from my personal experience at the Blue Lagoon:

♥ There are a lot of people there, that’s for sure.
♥ The water is rich with mineral salts, silica and sulphur, very good for the skin. Swimming in that water is like getting an intensive skin care.
♥ This is not a natural site. It’s located in a volcanic zone in the middle of a lava field, and is fed by water output of the nearby geothermal power plant.
This artificial lake was made in 1992, after the discovery of the benefits of this water for the skin a few years earlier.
♥ The hot temperature is so nice in the water that you can easily find yourself staying in there for hours. Let’s not forget we are in Iceland, and therefore it is very cold outside. Nothing’s more enjoyable to warm up!
♥ Specifically to the girls with long hair who plan to go to the Blue Lagoon: you will see in the following photos that I dipped my hair in the water. This is not the best thing to do (compared to the skin), but by applying a generous dose of conditioner, there’s no problem. I also recommend to blow dry and brush immediately your hair after washing them. If you have dyed hair, you should better avoid any contact with the water.
♥ You can get the best blue cocktail in the world at the Lava Restaurant (and salmon at the same time).
♥ Beware of pilferage. I got the towel that I brought from home stolen, and an old lady even tried to steal my bathrobe .
I know it sounds like a silly topic, but you get to understand the importance of it when you find yourself in that situation: outside the water, the temperature is freezing.
The Blue Lagoon rates are higher for bathrobes rentals which is totally normal, Â but it probably explains why people who maybe forgot their towel but still do not want to pay more or to die of pneumonia … steal the other people.
This is the only unpleasant thing that happened while I was at  to the Blue Lagoon. Nothing happened to my other personal belongings, thank god.
♥ In boxes located on the side of the basin, you can find silica to make yourself a face mask. Everyone was doing it, creating a fun landscape of faces covered with white mud popping out of the water.
It was also very funny to see friends and couples putting the mud on each other’s face. It generally made them  completely hilarious, and I remember laughing out loud too when I tried the same.
